The final round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup wrapped up on Tuesday with Haiti securing a decisive 2–0 victory over Nicaragua in Group C action at Stadion Ergilio Hato in Willemstad, Curaçao.
Haiti struck early when Louicius Deedson opened the scoring in the 9th minute, firing a left-footed shot from the top of the box after a well-placed assist from Josué Casimir. Les Grenadiers doubled their advantage just before halftime, as Ruben Providence rose to head home a Carlens Arcus cross in first-half stoppage time (45+1’).

The win sealed Haiti’s place at the top of Group C and delivered a historic milestone: direct qualification to the FIFA World Cup for only the second time. Their last appearance came more than half a century ago at Germany 1974, ending a 51-year drought.
Nicaragua concluded its qualifying campaign in fourth place with four points and a 1–1–4 record.
