Jamaican lightweight prospect Daniel Hylton maintained his unbeaten professional record with a fourth-round knockout of Guyanese boxer Septon Barton in Georgetown, Guyana.
Hylton stopped Barton on Saturday, September 12, at the Clifford Anderson Sports Hall, where the two met in the opening bout of the Caribbean Boxing Organization’s Caribbean Boxing Showdown 2.0. Hylton entered the contest at 136.4 pounds, while Barton weighed 135.4 pounds.

The Jamaican controlled the lightweight contest before ending it at 2:15 of the fourth and final round. Hylton landed a combination that sent Barton to the canvas, prompting referee intervention and giving the Jamaican a knockout victory.
The victory improved Hylton’s professional record to 3-0, further establishing him as an emerging Jamaican talent in the regional boxing scene.
Hylton was one of two Jamaicans competing on the Georgetown card. Fellow Jamaican Toriano Nicholas faced Guyanese boxer Joel Williamson in a junior welterweight bout but was stopped in the first round.
The event featured fighters from across the Caribbean and South America, including competitors from Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados. The card was headlined by Guyanese cruiserweight Laured “The Lion” Stewart, who stopped Venezuela’s Williams Ocando in the sixth round.
For Hylton, the victory marked another successful step in his professional career as he continues to build his record on the regional boxing circuit.
