This fall, the vibrant aromas of scotch bonnet, rich coconut milk, earthy spices, and braised meats will drift across the East River waterfront as the 8th Annual Creole Food Festival takes center stage. Scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Pier 3 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the landmark festival expands to its largest venue yet to accommodate unprecedented public demand.
The Creole Food Festival stands as the nation’s premier culinary gathering dedicated exclusively to celebrating the interconnectedness of global Creole cuisine. Far beyond a localized celebration, the festival redefines “Creole” in its truest, broadest form, tracing the historic arc of flavor from Africa across the Caribbean, Latin America, South America, and the U.S. Southern states.

Founded in 2018 by Fabrice J. Armand and Elkhair Balla, the Creole Food Festival was born out of a critical necessity: creating an uncompromised platform for talented chefs of color who had historically been overlooked by mainstream food media.

What began as a grassroots effort in New York has evolved into an independent, multi-city cultural movement operating across five major metropolitan hubs: New York City, Miami, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and New Orleans. Remarkably, the festival remains 100% Black-owned and entirely self-funded, operating without outside investors or institutional debt to safeguard its core artistic and cultural vision.
“Our commitment to authenticity is non-negotiable,” emphasizes Co-Founder Fabrice Armand. “Chefs are asked to prepare dishes true to their roots, spice levels and all, no watering things down”.
Unlike standard commercial food gatherings, participating chefs receive full equity and financial support, including honorariums, dedicated food budgets, and full logistical equipment setups. This equitable framework empowers culinary creators to showcase high-concept, authentic heritage dishes without financial strain.

Guided by esteemed culinary advisors including Chef Todd Richards, Chef Stephan, and Chef Apa Garay, this year’s chef roster features an extraordinary group of trailblazers representing the global African and Creole diaspora. Festivalgoers will also sample offerings from specialty culinary concepts such as Oseno Jerk and Hamptons Lobster Co., alongside premium spirits partners including Rhum Barbancourt.
Food and music move in tandem across the diaspora. This year’s musical programming weaves traditional Caribbean rhythms with vibrant Latin sounds, honoring October’s Hispanic Heritage Month. An elite DJ lineup featuring DJ Stakz (Haitian), Sounds of Reality (Southern), DJ Magic Kenny (Nigerian / Resident), and Commish will set the sonic backdrop. They will share the stage with live Latino performers, including Reggaeton icon DJ Nelson (Puerto Rico), celebrating the deep, historical intersections between Afro-Caribbean and Latinx communities.
The festival structure ensures an inclusive experience for the entire community while providing elevated access for culinary enthusiasts. Admission to the Pier 3 event grounds, live musical performances, and cultural entertainment is FREE and OPEN to the public. Guests wishing to partake in the culinary tastings must purchase an official Tasting Ticket.
