KINGSTON, Jamaica — Mark Golding will continue as president of the People’s National Party (PNP) after the official nomination period for the post closed at noon on Friday without any challengers.
The PNP also confirmed that four individuals have been nominated to serve as vice presidents: Mikael Phillips, Member of Parliament (MP) for Manchester Northwest; Ian Hayles, MP for Westmoreland Western; Natalie Neita Garvey, MP for St Catherine North Central; and Norman Scott, mayor of the St Catherine Municipal Corporation.

With nominations equaling the number of vacancies, the party said there will be no need for elections for the vice president positions.
In a statement, the PNP extended gratitude to Senator Donna Scott Mottley, who chose not to seek re-election after years of service in the role.
“Comrade Scott Mottley has served with distinction in the role over the last several years and played a pivotal part during the election campaign. The PNP acknowledges and thanks her for her outstanding service and commitment to the movement,” the statement read.
Looking ahead, the party will host its two-day National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on October 4–5, which will be followed by a series of annual regional conferences and the election of regional officers. The calendar will conclude with a private session of the PNP’s annual conference on November 30, 2025.
