Kingston, Jamaica — Jamaica will soon witness a moment of extraordinary pride and compassion as two of its sons return home to give back grandly.
Dr. Bill Tinglin, a distinguished Jamaican-American philanthropist and educator born in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, and Dr. Robert Clarke, MD-OD, a celebrated physician and President of Help Jamaica Medical Mission, hailing from Trench Town, Kingston, will lead a monumental effort to strengthen Jamaica’s healthcare system.

A Gift of Healing
On October 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., the National Healthcare Enhancement Foundation (72B Hope Road, Unit 1B, Kingston 6) will host the official handover ceremony of a tractor-trailer shipment of life-saving medical supplies, valued in the millions of dollars, destined for hospitals across Jamaica, beginning with those most in need.
For more than 14 years, Dr. Tinglin and his network of U.S.-based partners have delivered countless containers of medical supplies and equipment to Jamaica. His work, driven by faith, patriotism, and compassion, has strengthened the island’s healthcare system and saved countless lives.
Dr. Clarke, through Help Jamaica Medical Mission, has similarly led hundreds of doctors, nurses, and volunteers into communities too often left behind, providing care, medicine, and hope where it’s needed most.
Voices of Service
“This mission is not about medicine alone,” said Dr. Tinglin. “It’s about restoring dignity, compassion, and life itself to the people of Jamaica, the land that raised us.”
“Service,” added Dr. Clarke, “is the purest form of gratitude. We want every Jamaican, at home and abroad, to know that healing our nation begins with each of us.”
A New Chapter for the Diaspora
This historic partnership will also launch a new operational fund in 2026, created through the collaboration of Dr. Tinglin, Dr. Clarke, the Jamaican Diaspora, and Mr. Cephas Courtney of the Ministry of Health Foundation.
We are establishing a fund to cover shipping costs for future bulk donations, which will finally remove one of the greatest obstacles that have long prevented generous Jamaicans abroad from sending medical aid home.
Special recognition is extended to:
- Mr. Cephas Courtney, Executive Director of the Ministry of Health Foundation
- Ms. Phillis Hall, – Ministry of Health- for her 14 years of tireless coordination with the New York operation
- Ms. Jody McQueen, Ministry of Health, for her administrative guidance
- Dennis Shipping of New York, for their steadfast logistical support
“For years, many in the Diaspora wanted to help but couldn’t overcome the high cost of shipping,” said Dr. Tinglin. “We plan to remove that barrier. Together, we are building a bridge of hope, from Jamaica to the world, and back home again.”
