Miss Jamaica 2025, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, has informed her supporters that she will provide a more detailed account of her recent accident at her convenience, as she continues her recovery.
Nearly two weeks after the Miss Universe Organization and Henry’s family issued a statement detailing the serious injuries she sustained during the Miss Universe competition in Thailand, the Jamaican beauty queen has now shared a personal message with her supporters.

In an Instagram post accompanied by photos of herself wearing a shimmering blue gown, Henry expressed gratitude for being back home in Jamaica, surrounded by the strength and support of her people.
“In a time that calls for stillness and healing, I am grateful to be in Jamaica and to feel the familiar strength of Jamaica surrounding me,” she wrote.
She extended thanks to her family, friends, and fellow Jamaicans for their prayers and encouragement, as well as to those who supported her through moments both public and private.
Henry also expressed appreciation to her medical teams and to those who assisted in her care, including the Miss Universe Jamaica organization and the Jamaica Tourist Board.
Reflecting on her journey, Henry wrote that both her role as Miss Jamaica Universe and her career as an ophthalmology resident have shaped her perspective during recovery.
“As Miss Jamaica Universe 2025 and an ophthalmology resident, I am reminded that moments of darkness do not diminish vision. They refine it,” she shared.
She added that while she continues to heal, she remains inspired by the resilience of Jamaicans in the face of adversity. She indicated that she would share more details in the future but emphasized that her current focus is on healing, purpose, and service.
The post drew an outpouring of support from fans and fellow pageant contestants, including Miss Universe Fátima Bosch, who praised Henry’s strength and resilience.
A statement issued earlier this month by the Miss Universe Organization and Henry’s family confirmed that she suffered a serious fall during the preliminary evening gown competition on November 19 in Thailand. According to the release, Henry fell through an opening in the stage, resulting in an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations, and other significant injuries.
She was immediately hospitalized in Bangkok and admitted to intensive care, where she remained under constant neurological monitoring. The statement noted that she continues to require round-the-clock specialist supervision.
It was previously reported that Henry’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry Samuels, and her mother, Maureen Henry, traveled to Thailand to remain by her side during her recovery.
Earlier this month, the official Miss Universe Jamaica social media account shared a message marking what it described as a season of recovery, reflection, and renewed resilience for the titleholder.
