The Jamaican Government is exploring a partnership with the Clinton Foundation to support national recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. The announcement came from Minister Olivia Grange, who is currently leading the Government while Prime Minister Andrew Holness is overseas on official business.
In a post shared on her official Facebook page, Grange said it was a pleasure to join former United States President Bill Clinton at a private dinner in St. Andrew on Thursday. The event was hosted by Sandals executive chairman, Ambassador Adam Stewart, and attended by senior government officials and other dignitaries.

“We remain deeply grateful for the tremendous support provided in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa,” Grange wrote. “We look forward to partnering with the Clinton Foundation.”
Earlier in the day, Clinton participated in an aerial tour of areas severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa, which struck Jamaica on October 28, claiming at least 45 lives and causing more than $1 trillion in damage.
The Clinton Foundation, an international nonprofit, is widely known for its work in disaster recovery, public health, climate resilience, and economic development across the globe. Jamaican officials believe the organization could play a significant role in long-term rebuilding efforts.
