Trinidad and Tobago has unveiled a strong and ambitious squad ahead of the 2026 CARIFTA Games, with 74 athletes set to represent the twin-island republic at the region’s premier junior track and field competition in Grenada from April 4–6.
The team, which includes 18 officials, is one of the country’s largest CARIFTA contingents in recent years and blends experienced medal contenders with a new generation of emerging talent eager to make their mark on the regional stage.

The CARIFTA Games, widely regarded as a launching pad for future international stars, will see Trinidad and Tobago compete across both Under-17 and Under-20 categories in a full slate of track and field events.
Among the athletes expected to feature prominently are rising talents such as Tyrique Vincent and Tenique Vincent, along with Oshea Cummings, Jayden Goodridge, and Eden Chee-Wah, all of whom secured selection following competitive national trials.
Standout performers from the trials also include athletes like Jenna-Marie Thomas and Trevaughn Stewart, who earned their spots after impressive displays, signaling depth across both sprint and field events.
Officials say the selection process followed a highly competitive trial period at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, where several athletes produced standout performances, underlining the growing strength of the country’s junior athletics programme.
The 2026 squad will be looking to build on Trinidad and Tobago’s strong showing at last year’s CARIFTA Games, where the nation secured an impressive medal haul and reaffirmed its status as one of the Caribbean’s leading track and field powerhouses.
With a mix of proven performers and hungry newcomers, expectations are high as Team T&T prepares to depart for Grenada. For many of these young athletes, CARIFTA represents more than just competition—it is a critical stepping stone toward collegiate scholarships, international championships, and ultimately, the Olympic stage.
