Police in St. Kitts and Nevis have launched investigations into reports that women are being drugged at bars and social events and subsequently sexually assaulted.
In a statement, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said its Special Victims Unit is actively probing the reports and emphasized that law enforcement takes the matter seriously. Authorities said they are committed to identifying those responsible and ensuring victims receive appropriate support and justice.

Police are urging members of the public, particularly women, to exercise heightened caution when attending social gatherings. They advised individuals to avoid accepting drinks from strangers, not to leave drinks unattended, and to observe drinks being prepared whenever possible.
The statement also recommended attending events with trusted friends, remaining together where practicable, and looking out for one another throughout the event. People were cautioned to be wary of individuals who attempt to isolate them or pressure them into consuming additional alcohol or other substances.
Police further advised that anyone who feels unwell, disoriented, unusually intoxicated, or suspects their drink may have been tampered with should seek immediate assistance from trusted friends, event staff, or security personnel and contact the police without delay.
Authorities stressed that individuals should avoid leaving alone and should not accept transportation from persons who are not known or trusted. Prompt medical attention is strongly encouraged, as it is important both for personal health and for preserving potential evidence.
While no arrests have been made so far, police are encouraging anyone who believes they may have been a victim, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to report the matter immediately to the nearest police station, a confidential hotline, or directly to the Special Victims Unit.
All reports, police assured, will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality. Public cooperation, they added, remains vital to preventing these offenses and ensuring the safety and well being of all members of the community.
