Sheryl Lee Ralph received Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards, which was hosted on Sunday at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
Ralph won over Paulina Alexis for Reservation Dogs, Ayo Edebiri for The Bear, Marcia Gay Harden for Uncoupled, Janelle James for Abbott Elementary, and Annie Potts for Young Sheldon.

Abbott Elementary, which received five nominations, including two for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Ralph and James, won the award for Best Comedy Series.
Quinta Brunson, who created the Tv show, was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and Tyler James Williams, was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Brunson won her first Golden Globe last week for Best Television Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series. Hacks’ Jean Smart won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and Henry Winkler’s performance in Barry took home the trophy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Abbott Elementary is a critically acclaimed American mockumentary that has only been shown for two seasons.
The 54th NAACP Image Awards have nominated it for Outstanding Comedy Series. A nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series went to Ralph as well. The occasion will take place on February 25th, a Saturday.
In addition, the first season of the show was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022 and took home three of them. The winners of the Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series awards were Wendy O’Brien, Ralph, and Quinta Brunson.
With three of its five prizes, including Best Musical/Comedy Series, Abbott Elementary brought the Golden Globe Awards to a conclusion on last Tuesday. Abbott Elementary cast members Ralph and James, who were competing for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, fell short of winning. Julia Garner, who hails from Ozark, won.
