Harlem, New York – The 31st Annual Juneteenth Parade in Harlem is proud to announce that Judge J. Machelle Sweeting will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. The parade, which celebrates the rich history and cultural heritage of African Americans, will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM from 116th Street Between Malcolm X Boulevard and 5th Avenue.
Judge Sweeting, a distinguished jurist with a long-standing commitment to justice and community service, brings a wealth of experience and a deep personal connection to the ideals of Juneteenth. Elected to the New York City Civil Court in 2014 and serving in the Family Court, Judge Sweeting has been a tireless advocate for fairness, equality, and the rights of all individuals, particularly the underserved and marginalized.
