Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel continues to make waves in the music world with his latest mixtape, First Week Out, which has just debuted at number eight on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The 12-track project, released on July 31 via 21st Hapilos Compilations, features three collaborations with fellow dancehall star Squash, adding to its already explosive energy.
This latest achievement marks the eighth time Vybz Kartel has landed in the Top 10 of the reggae albums chart. His previous albums, such as the deluxe edition of Kingston Story, peaked at number 12 in 2012, while Kartel Forever: Trilogy reached number 11 in 2013.

With this new entry, Vybz Kartel ties with Sean Paul for the second-most charted titles by a Jamaican dancehall artist on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, with both artists boasting ten entries each. The only artist ahead of them is Beenie Man, who holds the record with 15 charted titles. However, when looking at Jamaican artists overall, Bob Marley and the Wailers take the crown with 17 entries, including 12 that have topped the chart.
Speaking of Bob Marley and the Wailers, their legendary album Legend continues to dominate the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, holding the number one spot this week and extending its reign to an incredible 239 non-consecutive weeks at the top.
