Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel will no longer appear at the highly anticipated One Caribbean Music Festival in Trinidad and Tobago, following a reported breach of contractual obligations by the event’s promoters.
According to media reports from the twin-island republic, Kartel’s team officially pulled out of the event due to the promoters’ failure to meet key stipulations outlined in the performance agreement. The promoters reportedly acknowledged the last-minute cancellation, noting that they were informed of the decision just hours before the scheduled performance.

Despite ongoing discussions over the past several months, the promoters admitted that they were ultimately unable to fulfil the agreed-upon terms, which led to Kartel’s withdrawal from the festival.
The development comes amid a wave of renewed public interest in Vybz Kartel, following his recent return to the stage in late 2024 after serving over a decade behind bars. Kartel is also slated to headline Festival Night One at Reggae Sumfest 2025, where he is expected to be officially crowned as the new King of Dancehall.
No official statement has yet been released by Vybz Kartel or his management regarding the cancellation in Trinidad and Tobago.
