Dyal, a recent graduate of Guyana’s Queen’s College, arrived at the event with an amazing resume. Her academic career has been nothing short of remarkable, demonstrating her devotion to greatness. Sheridan had previously demonstrated her academic prowess with an amazing 19 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) pass, of which 18 were in grades one and one in grade two. Her results on the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) further highlighted her ability; she finished 21 topics, including 10 grade one and 11 grade two tests.
Additionally, she has been named the 2022 CXC Science Student of the Year. She was also acknowledged as one of the best performers in Guyana according to CAPE.
Sheridan had the privilege of signing the Matriculation Book on behalf of her fellow new students as the top matriculant. This action was not only a significant personal achievement for her, but it also symbolized her leadership among her classmates and the high expectations of the new class.
The nineteen-year-old is now prepared to embark on a new chapter at UWI and pursue dentistry in the Faculty of Medicine. Her decision to pursue this demanding and fulfilling job path shows how passionate she is about improving other people’s health and well-being—a desire that has been apparent throughout her academic career.
Dalal conveyed her thanks and excitement for the official start of courses during an interview with the media. She said that even though she wasn’t always sure what she wanted to pursue, her enthusiasm for dentistry developed with time. In addition, Dyal possesses an entrepreneurial drive, having launched two enterprises. Teen Hustle, her jewelry and accessory line, helped finance her schooling and freedom.
Unfortunately, Sherry-Ann, Sheridan’s mother, was unable to attend in person to congratulate her daughter, but she conveyed her love via live video on YouTube as Sheridan signed the matriculation book.
