A thrilling day of cultural festivals and festivities is scheduled to take place on St. Croix in 2024, according to the announcement made by the Division of Festivals and the V.I. Department of Tourism. Given that it is UberSoca Cruise’s tenth journey, this year’s event will be a significant milestone. The Norwegian Jade is scheduled to arrive at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted on October 24 with an anticipated attendance of over 2,500 partygoers.
The Department of Tourism will conduct a vibrant procession through the streets of Frederiksted, called the UberSoca Cruise x USVI J’ouvert, to start the celebrations. At this year’s J’Ouvert, which is centered around a colorful road march inspired by zombies, both locals and cruise visitors will celebrate Crucian culture with music, paint, powder, and foam.

According to a DOT announcement, the procession will feature both domestic and foreign entertainment, including appearances by DJ Avalanche and Adam O, two residents of the Virgin Islands, in addition to several other performers from the UberSoca Cruise program.
DOT Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, “As we continue to expand marketing the destination to the world, we know the importance of continued recentering in culture and heritage.”
“The partnership with UberSoca Cruise allows us to connect and showcase our islands with the Caribbean diaspora and lovers of our rich regional culture.”
Participants who walk the 2-mile J’ouvert route will arrive at Frederiksted Beach, the site of the beach party that will cap off the celebrations. Pumpa, a local performer from St. Croix, and Asa Bantan, a global Bouyon artist, will both be performing at the event. A lively environment will be created for both ship passengers and residents by the presence of local merchants selling food, beverages, and delights.
Nathaniel Turner, the CEO and founder of UberSoca Cruise, stated, “We are excited to be sailing back to the shores of the US Virgin Islands.”
Turner stated, “Our 2023 visit to St. Thomas was nothing short of historic, marking a celebration of culture and community. This year, we are excited to bring the USC family to St. Croix and extend a warm invitation to locals and those from surrounding islands to join us on the road for an unforgettable experience.”
