Sunday night’s Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs got underway with a powerful performance of the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Emmy Award-winning Abbott Elementary actress.
Jamaican American Sheryl lee Ralph, age 66, rocked a bespoke red Harbison Studio jumpsuit with gold buttons, off-the-shoulder puff sleeves that made a statement, and a built-in train with a black liner. She accessorized the ensemble with Nikos Koulis jewelry, platform sandals, and complimentary red gloves. Ivy Coco, her designer daughter, provided a behind-the-scenes glimpse on her Instagram. She arranged the stunning ensemble.

Ivy added a hot pink beanie and black pants with boots that resembled stockings to Ralph’s Savage x Fenty jersey outfit before the game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Ralph’s Super Bowl performance follows a great career breakthrough year. After decades in the business, Ralph, who played Barbra Howard in the popular ABC comedy Abbott Elementary and received an Emmy and Critics Choice Award for it, is now receiving some well-deserved respect.
Connecting with Rihanna was another professional high point. Prior to the Super Bowl, the celebrity met the superstar and described the encounter to PEOPLE, stating, “First of all, Rihanna’s so much taller than I imagined. She’s really quite a beautiful amazon. I was like, ‘Oh my God, look at her.’ Yes, this is Savage Fenty. I completely get it.”
“She’s got like a warrior spirit, you know? It’s like, ‘No, why would you mess with her? No, you’ll never win. No, she’s winning all the time.’ I loved it. It was great meeting her.”
Ralph responded when questioned about whether Rihanna had talked about getting ready for their historic performances, “You know what [Rihanna] said to me? She said, ‘I’m sending you all the makeup you will ever need. Please make sure you are a Fab Fenty face on Sunday.’ I said, ‘For you? Absolutely.’ “
All before declaring she “will be Fenty down.”
Ralph also enjoys the glitz and glamour of award season. The actress has also started using her 28-year-old talented daughter Ivy for her most recent red-carpet outings and she understood every assignment, acing each and every one of her mom’s red-carpet looks.
Ralph recently spoke with Byrdie, saying, “I’ve been having the most fun working with my daughter, Ivy, who is my stylist.”
“It started as something we were going to do just a few times. But every time I had to hit the red carpet, she just kept getting better and better at it. So, now we work together,” Ralph continued, adding the duo has made it their aim to “lift up other young artists, especially young black designers.”
