The monthly series “Let’s Connect,” organized by Audrey Marks, the Jamaican ambassador to the United States, will give Diaspora Jamaicans an opportunity to speak with Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
The prime minister will have the chance to communicate directly with the participants once again during today’s special Christmas edition of Marks’ monthly forum, she added, and to share his holiday message with the diaspora.

Outstanding Jamaican-American physician Robynne Chutkan, author of the recently released book The Anti-Viral: Gut Tackling Pathogens from the Inside Out, is also set to participate in the show.
In addition, Jamaican-American photographer and author David Muir will give a presentation of his book in honor of Jamaica’s 60th anniversary of independence. His book is titled Pieces of Jamaica: The Jam Rock Edition.
Marks welcomed Holness to the country as he landed at Ronald Reagan International Airport in Washington, DC for a five-day visit from December 6 to 10.
The prime minister will meet with state department representatives while in the US capital to talk about enhancing security cooperation with the country.
In view of the fact that a sizable number of Jamaican-American dons with bases in the US have been influencing the expanding crime rates and murder rates in Jamaica, he is anticipated to concentrate on regions of enhanced collaboration.
Alongside legislative leaders and legislators from across the world, Holness was also supposed to take part in a Congressional Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum in the US Senate Building.
More than 70 nations will participate in the forum, which aims to develop security solutions through cooperation with the US and its allies. The forum will cover a variety of subjects, including money laundering, human trafficking, and cybersecurity.
The Attorney General’s Office and the Prime Minister will meet at the Department of Justice to address the necessity of stepping up efforts to prosecute targeted drug lords and operators of different lottery frauds.
Holness will meet with representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs in order to further his security agenda. Holness will be accompanied by Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson (INL).
In a press conference on Tuesday where he announced the declaration of states of emergency in eight parishes, Holness stressed his intention to work with US security and intelligence agencies to take advantage of their capacity to track and stop crimes in Jamaica that originate from US-based gangs that are orchestrating global organized crime and jeopardizing the peace and security of the nation.
Holness noted, “They can’t feel that they are free to influence, direct, solicit, and finance crime in Jamaica. So I head to Washington to have meetings with the Justice Department, the FBI, and other entities there because I am serious.”
“If you are overseas and your sponsorship is directing, soliciting, and financing crime in Jamaica, we are going to get you,” remarked Holness.
