It’s been a huge week here at Team Bragg. We had our first quarterly fundraising deadline since I launched my reelection campaign, and just three days later, we turned in over 36,000 signatures – more than nine times what was required – to get on the ballot.
So today, I wanted to take a moment to explain what inspired me to run for office in the first place, and why I’m asking for your support to meet my reelection campaign launch week goal.

The fight for justice is personal to me, and I’ve spent more than two decades in the courtroom dedicated to the inextricably linked goals of safety, fairness, and holding all accountable.
Growing up in Harlem in the 1980s, I saw firsthand the complex realities of our criminal justice system. Before I turned 21, I had a gun pointed at me six times – three times by the police and three times by civilians. I had a knife to my neck, a semi-automatic weapon to my head, and I found a homicide victim on my doorstep.
Those experiences didn’t stop me; they drove me to more than two decades in the courtroom, standing up to the powerful and demanding safety and justice for all.
As a state and federal prosecutor, I fought for workers whose wages were stolen, tenants pushed out by greedy landlords, survivors of sexual violence, New Yorkers harmed by public corruption and to make us all safer. And today, as Manhattan District Attorney, I’m continuing that fight every single day.
Since taking office, we’ve made real progress:
- Comprehensive approach that has helped reduce shootings by 45%.
- Invested in community-based mental health initiatives.
- More than 200% increase in emergency survivor-centered support care.
- Prosecuted corruption, wherever it hides.
This work is bold. It’s important. And it’s under attack.
There are powerful interests and well-funded voices who want to roll back our progress. They’re not just targeting me – they’re targeting the values we fight for and the communities we serve.
I’ve never backed down from a tough fight. But I can’t do this alone.
We don’t take a dime from corporate PACs, lobbyists, or attorneys who practice in our office. That means this campaign runs 100% on grassroots support – people like you who believe in justice, safety, and fairness.
Having you in this fight means everything to me. Let’s keep pushing for a safer, stronger, more just Manhattan – together. Donate today!
Thank you, Alvin Bragg
