We deserve better, and, I’m ready to be that Mayor for you.

New York City isn’t affordable. Prices are soaring and middle class, affordable housing is vanishing. More than 2 million residents spend more than half their income on rent. One in eight public school students experienced homelessness last year. Meanwhile, countless units sit empty — available only to the ultra-rich.
I’ve lived this reality. As the son of Jamaican immigrants raised in The Bronx, I’ve seen families priced out of their neighborhoods. I’ve watched as neighbors sacrificed food and childcare just to keep a roof over their heads.
We don’t have to accept this. I’m the only Mayoral candidate with successful White House, state house, local and management experience, and, I’m focused on making our lives Affordable.
In the first 100 days of a Mayor Michael Blake administration, I’ll pay all open city contracts to nonprofits working in housing, childcare, and job placement. I’ll declare a Cost of Living Emergency to End Credit scores used for rent and homeownership applications, expand Income thresholds for housing and use city reserves for a Guaranteed Income pilot for housing and childcare expenses.
We will actually determine “affordable housing” by replacing the outdated Area Median Income formula with Local Median Income, tailored by zip code. We will protect Medicaid, Medicare and pensions, fund youth, senior and community programs while focusing on Public Safety and Mental Health.
My Mitchell-Lama 2.0 program will build 600,000 new, deeply affordable units for working families and public sector workers.
We’ll fund this without raising taxes on working-class families by collecting more than $2 billion in outstanding fines, repeal tax breaks for luxury properties, and tax vacant luxury apartments and commercial properties and stop excessive overtime government spending.
My leadership has delivered before — from fixing Mitchell-Lama waitlists to cutting payment times for small businesses. Now, I’m ready to deliver for all New Yorkers.
Our city needs the next generation of leadership. My plan isn’t just possible — it’s necessary. We deserve better. We deserve a New York that works for everyone. I’m ready to be your mayor.
