The Clansman Gang has been connected to at least 800 killings since 2014, according to a nine-month investigation by the police, who have also detained 31 alleged members of the St. Catherine-based gang.
At a recent news conference, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, who oversees the Crime and Security Portfolio, revealed the figure while outlining the findings of the investigation.

Bailey specifically mentioned an operation that took place in St. Catherine early on Thursday morning. The senior law enforcement officer described it as the end of a months-long investigation that concentrated on the gang unit led by the imprisoned Tesha Miller. During the operation, one man challenged the police and was shot and killed.
He is 29-year-old Ellerslie Pen worker Suman McFarlane.
Three guns and a large amount of ammo were also reported taken into custody by the police.
Bailey also disclosed that an automobile, money, high-end merchandise, and designer apparel with a combined estimated worth of $3 million were found at an Old Harbor site.
Keep an eye out for DCP Bailey’s specifics about their inquiry.
