Nicole Smith a 44-year-old, hairdresser who faces multiple charges related to the seizure of over $3 million at Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Criminal Court.
The Kingston’s Dennis Avenue, resident was accused of transnational currency movement, introducing illicit property onto the island of Jamaica, hiding illicit property, plotting to hide illicit property, and possessing illicit property.

Smith is said to have landed on the island at 8:00 p.m. aboard a British Airways aircraft.
Her luggage was inspected by security personnel, and within her suitcase was found $3,068,951.95 in undeclared cash.
Smith was placed on arrest for violating the Proceeds of Crime Act after she was unable to provide a sufficient accounting of the funds.
Smith was charged after being questioned on December 10, 2023, in the presence of her counsel.
On January 10, 2024, she is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court to respond to the accusations.
