Jamaicaās first casino is scheduled to open in February 2027 at Princess Grand Jamaica in Green Island, Hanover, marking a significant development in the countryās efforts to expand its tourism offerings through regulated casino gaming.
Princess Hotels and Resorts Jamaica confirmed the opening date on October 14 during World Travel Week 2026. The facility, which will operate as Adamas Grand Casino Jamaica, is expected to introduce new entertainment options for visitors while creating additional employment opportunities in the hospitality and gaming sectors.

Adamas Grand Casino Limited received Jamaicaās first casino gaming operatorās licence from the Casino Gaming Commission earlier this year. The casino will operate under a management agreement with Grupo Orenes, a Spanish gaming and hospitality company with operations in Spain, Mexico and Andorra.
The facility is expected to feature slot machines and live table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette and poker. Additional amenities will include a sports bar, premium dining with live performances and a nightclub.
Unlike some jurisdictions that restrict casino gaming to foreign visitors, Jamaicaās legal framework permits both residents and tourists to patronise licensed casinos. However, the gaming facilities must form part of approved integrated resort developments rather than operate as stand-alone businesses.
The project follows the passage of Jamaicaās Casino Gaming Act in 2010, which established the legal framework for casino operations within large-scale tourism developments. Despite the legislation, the introduction of casino gaming has faced years of regulatory preparation and delays.
Although Adamas Grand Casino Limited has obtained its operatorās licence, several requirements must still be met before the casino can begin operations. These include approved security and surveillance systems, anti-money laundering measures, responsible gaming safeguards, player-protection procedures and integration with the Casino Gaming Commissionās monitoring system.
The company had previously been given until March 2027 to satisfy the outstanding regulatory conditions, making the newly announced February opening an important target.
The casino forms part of Princess Hotels and Resortsā approximately US $400-million investment in Hanover, which includes Princess Grand Jamaica and the adults-only Princess Senses The Mangrove. The wider development is expected to strengthen the parishās tourism infrastructure and support further economic activity.
The company has also reported that approximately 100 additional jobs have been created for the casino operation, adding to potential employment opportunities in gaming, security, customer service, food and beverage and entertainment.
The opening is expected to introduce another dimension to Jamaicaās tourism product, as the country seeks to attract visitors through a broader range of experiences while maintaining regulatory oversight of the gaming industry.
The casinoās launch will depend on the operator completing the remaining regulatory requirements and receiving the necessary approvals to welcome patrons.
