This year, Grenada is celebrating under the theme “The Next 50: Embracing a Future of Development, Transformation, and Unity.”
One of the key venues for the festivities is the Carriacou Botanical Garden—a meaningful choice since it last hosted celebrations during the island’s 49th anniversary. With an emphasis on public-private partnerships, Grenada’s leaders are calling on businesses and the community to come together to make these cultural events a success, as reported by Associates Times.

Grenada, a stunning Caribbean archipelago spanning 344 square kilometers, is home to nearly 90,000 people, the majority of African descent. Known as the Island of Spices, it’s one of the world’s top producers and exporters of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, vanilla, and cocoa.
Beyond its rich history and culture, Grenada is famous for its breathtaking beaches, Grand Etang National Park, and a crater lake formed inside an extinct volcano. As a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, Grenada recognizes King Charles III as head of state, represented locally by a governor general.
On the global stage, Grenada maintains strong diplomatic ties and is a proud member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
As the nation looks ahead to the next 50 years, this celebration is all about unity, progress, and embracing the future.
