Guyana president and head of CARICOM, Irfaan Ali, recently announced that Ariel Henry had resigned as Prime Minister of Haiti.
Henry resigned in the face of growing gang pressure from Haiti and an increase in violence in the French-speaking nation.

According to Ali, Haiti will create a presidential council that will include two non-voting members and seven voting members.
