The conversation centered on the various ways in which the Diaspora Unit and the tourism organizations can work together to improve the understanding of tourism among Guyana’s overseas missions, advertise Guyana as a travel destination to both the Diaspora and non-Diaspora, and exchange details about the nation’s distinctive tourism offerings.
Executives at THAG claim: “They recognized the pivotal role Guyana’s diplomatic missions play in representing Guyana on the global stage; therefore, it imperative that their staff possesses a comprehensive understanding of Guyana’s tourism product.”
The purpose of this conference was to create a cooperative framework that will enable diplomatic missions to successfully market Guyana as a desirable travel destination.
By utilizing the knowledge and clout of diplomatic missions to highlight the nation’s varied and alluring tourist options, the result of this partnership has the potential to dramatically increase the marketing of Guyana’s tourism sector abroad.
Rosalinda Rasul, Head of the Diaspora, briefed the executives on the many ways the Unit has been promoting travel to the diaspora and informed them of planned initiatives to be carried out in 2024 to advance travel.
She promised to provide the tourist organizations with all the information required to support their efforts, help them reach their goals, and involve them even more in those initiatives. The stakeholders lay out a few things that they can start working on right away.
