In the Stabroek Block off the coast of Guyana, the Ministry of Natural Resources and ExxonMobil have reported yet another noteworthy oil find.
The company’s most recent find was discovered at the Lancetfish-1 well, where they came upon 92 feet (28 meters) of sandstone yielding oil.

The well is situated southeast of the Fangtooth-1 finding and was dug at 5,843 feet (1,780 meters).
The Stabroek block’s potential for further development is demonstrated by the positive early findings from the Lancetfish-1 well, according to ExxonMobil Guyana President and CEO Alistair Routledge.
According to Routledge, with every new finding, ExxonMobil is learning more about Guyana’s offshore potential.
One of six drillships assisting ExxonMobil Guyana in its offshore exploration and appraisal operations is the Noble Don Taylor, which drilled the Lancetfish-1.
In addition to the Fangtooth-SE-1 finding, which was revealed in late January, this is the second discovery of the year.
Around 6.6 million acres comprise the Stabroek Block (26,800 square kilometers).
The Ministry of Natural Resources expressed its appreciation for the most recent finding in a separate statement, noting that the newly discovered reservoir would go through a thorough evaluation procedure in line with existing appraisal operations for previous finds in the area.
