Grenada celebrates its 52nd anniversary of independence from the United Kingdom on February 7, 2026, under the theme “Grenada at 52 – Anchored in Faith, Guided by Purpose”. The nation gained independence on February 7, 1974, becoming a sovereign state after6 years of associated statehood. This theme speaks directly to the national character of the people of Grenada, their resilience and spirit.

At 52, Grenada is reminded that independence Is something we must practice, every single day. Freedom is sustained by effort, protected by responsibility and strengthened by productivity.
