An important update regarding the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council (GJDC) and the Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council (GJDYC) elections. The recent passage of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica necessitated adjustments to the original election schedule, as requested by members of our diaspora community who were focused on the recovery efforts on the island. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and we are pleased to advise that revised dates have now been confirmed.
These elections are a critical mechanism through which Jamaicans living abroad help shape structured, meaningful engagement with Jamaica. The Global Jamaica Diaspora Council serves as a formal advisory body that represents the interests, expertise, and perspectives of the Diaspora, working in partnership with the Government of Jamaica to advance national development and Diaspora priorities.

The Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council provides a dedicated platform for young Jamaicans in the Diaspora to contribute their voices, leadership, and innovation, ensuring that youth perspectives are fully integrated into Diaspora engagement and policy dialogue.
We strongly encourage you to participate in this process in one of two important ways:
Nominate individuals whom you believe are best suited to represent the community in the North East and beyond, based on their integrity, leadership, service, and commitment to Jamaica and its Diaspora; or
Register to vote, so that your voice is counted in selecting those who will represent you.
All voter registration, candidate nomination, and election-related information is managed through www.connectmeja.com, which serves as the official platform for the process.
