According to a report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, an organization that tracks hunger worldwide, almost all residents of Gaza are having difficulty obtaining enough food, and 1.1 million people, or half of the population, are anticipated to experience the highest level of severe hunger in the upcoming weeks. In the absence of an end to hostilities and quick access to basic supplies and services, the organization issued a recent warning that hunger may strike Gaza at any point between mid-March and May.
