A Jamaican man has been charged in connection with the death of his wife, Nancy Metayer Bowen, who authorities say was shot multiple times inside their home in Coral Springs.
According to reports from the Miami Herald, Metayer Bowen’s body was discovered on Wednesday in the couple’s second-floor primary bedroom, wrapped in blankets. Officers from the Coral Springs Police Department made the discovery while conducting a welfare check after she failed to attend a scheduled 9:00 a.m. commission meeting.

Investigators allege that her husband, Stephen Bowen, carried out the fatal shooting the previous night using a shotgun. Authorities further claim that after the incident, he went downstairs and slept.
Reports indicate that Bowen later visited his uncle’s home on Wednesday morning, where he allegedly confessed to the killing. When questioned about his motive, he reportedly stated that he “couldn’t take it anymore,” a remark cited in the arrest affidavit.
Bowen has since been taken into custody and is being held at the Broward County Main Jail. He faces charges of premeditated murder and tampering with physical evidence. Following a court appearance on Thursday, he remains in custody without bond.
