Rihanna has been flaunting her affinity for her longtime collaborator Puma recently. On July 23, she stepped out in New York City wearing the brand’s silver and red Mostro Lo sneakers.
The Fenty CEO showcased her urban street style, pairing baggy camouflage pants with a blue athletic jersey that read “Scott Racing Team.” The singer and fashion mogul demonstrated how two contrasting color schemes can merge to create a bold and unforgettable look. She accessorized with a Gucci purse, seemingly the $1,750 Ophinda GG medium tote, which complemented her pants with its beige colorway. Her hair was styled in braids, most of which were piled on top of her head in a bun.

Unsurprisingly, Rihanna chose to represent Puma with her footwear. She selected a pair from the company’s collaboration with Ottolinger, specifically the silver and red Puma Edition Mostro Lo sneakers. These low-top shoes are crafted from patent and grained leather, designed in silver with red accents. The rubber midsole and zig-zag straps are red, adding a vibrant contrast to the reflective chrome hue.
Notably, the midsole features a spiky design that contributes an edgy flair to the footwear. Known for this distinctive feature, the Mostro became highly popular in the early 2000s. This year, Puma has announced new versions of the shoe as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Rihanna’s collaboration with Puma dates back about a decade and includes several iterations of their successful Creeper shoe. The Creeper Phatty “In Session,” a puffy shoe with wide laces, was recently released in two colorways, including a triple black and a red and white option.
Rihanna’s appearance in the Mostro Lo shoes is the latest in a series of her New York City outings where she has been spotted wearing Puma. Earlier in the month, she was seen in the Liga OG Retro shoes for a casual outing. More recently, she modeled the Creeper Phatty “In Session” in the triple black colorway, pairing the shoes with a pleated skirt and button-down shirt for another stylish streetwear moment.
