AFROPUNK continues its tradition of celebrating the rich diversity of the Black diaspora, redefining modern cultural experiences, and providing a vibrant space for life, music, food, and culture. This year’s festival, themed “a celebration of the future of Black life, creativity, community, and expression reimagined,” promises to be a dynamic and inclusive event.

Erykah Badu, a trailblazer in neo-soul, is renowned for her eclectic style and profound lyrics, which have resonated with fans worldwide. Her presence at AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA Brooklyn is more than just a performance—it’s a homecoming. Badu last graced the AFROPUNK stage in 2018. Her return is eagerly anticipated as AFROPUNK approaches its 20th anniversary in 2025. This year, the festival is partnering with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn, New York City’s longest-running free outdoor performing arts festival.
AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA Brooklyn will bring a touch of nostalgia by returning to its roots at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. In keeping with AFROPUNK’s commitment to inclusivity, all tickets will be general admission, democratizing access for all attendees. This move ensures that everyone can experience the festival’s unique blend of music, art, and culture without barriers.
