With over a billion plays in a single year, international dancehall phenomenon Sean Paul is the most streamed dancehall artist of 2023.
Sean Paul has been a dominant presence in the dancehall scene for as long as anybody can remember. Not surprisingly, the globally recognized celebrity topped the list of dancehall singers that have received the most Spotify streams in 2023. The fantastic tunes are what have captured the admirers’ whole focus and fervent appreciation.

Sean Paul’s Spotify Wrapped statistics indicate that the Grammy winner received over one billion streams in 2023. This is certainly an incredible accomplishment for the Jamaican artist. Sean Paul has had 1.2 billion streams from 123 million listeners in 184 countries so far this year. Sean Paul’s achievement of surpassing one billion Spotify streams in a single calendar year is quite remarkable. Artists are often honored when they reach this milestone.
The next item on the countdown, which is also quite an accomplishment, was less than 20 percent of the dancehall star’s streams, which puts the disparity between first and second place inconceivable to put into perspective. The “Temperature” singer who publicly thanked his supporters for enabling him to achieve these extraordinary new heights, is cognizant of the significance of this most recent honor as well.

The most streamed dancehall albums and tracks of the year were also revealed by Spotify, and Sean Paul won those rankings as well. As the lead artist on six of the top ten albums and one as a featured artist, Sean had a stellar resume. In 2023, “No Lie” starring Dua Lipa was his most streamed song, while “Mad Love The Prequel” was his most streamed album.
Sean Paul, whose real name is Ryan Francis Henriques, took home the top four albums on the list. The Trinity, released in 2005, came in second, followed by Dutty Rock (2002) and Tomahawk Technique (2012). Spice’s 2021 debut album 10, which was released, came in fifth position.
Popcaan appears twice on the list: his album Great Is He from 2023 comes in at number six, while his Fixtape from 2020 comes in at number eight. Hold You by Gyptian from 2010 is in the middle at No. 7, and Vybz Kartel, the jailed dancehall magnate, and Sean Paul’s Scorcha (2022) complete the top 10. (2010).
Sean Paul once more cemented his name in the top five spots on the list for dancehall music. At No. 2, “Temperature” cemented its position, succeeded by his classic breakthrough hit “Get Busy” at No. 3. At No. 4, Spice’s first album track “Go Down Deh,” with Shaggy and Sean Paul, also achieved a high ranking; SP’s “She Doesn’t Mind” came in at No. 5.
Additionally, Popcaan’s “We Caa Done” starring Drake comes in at number six on Spotify’s 2023 Top 10 Most Streamed Dancehall Songs Globally, followed at number seven by SP’s classic smash “I’m Still in Love with You” featuring Sasha. “Gyal You a Party Animal” by Charly Black, both in its original and accelerated versions, takes the following two positions on the list. “Got 2 Luv U” by Sean Paul, featuring Alexis Jordan, rounds out the top 10.
