Former Eric Adams says he has no plans to enter the entertainment industry, but if a movie were ever made about his life, he already has the perfect actor in mind.
While speaking with TMZ during a recent visit to Los Angeles, Adams joked that Denzel Washington should portray him on the big screen.

“I’ll tell Denzel to do it,” Adams said with a laugh during the interview.
The former mayor, however, made it clear that Hollywood is not in his future.
“I’ve done enough public life,” Adams said, noting that he has no intention of pursuing a career in film or television.
Social Media Reacts
Adams’ remarks quickly circulated on social media, prompting a wave of humorous reactions and alternative casting suggestions from users.
Some online commenters suggested comedian Dave Chappelle would better capture Adams’ personality.
Others mentioned Tracy Morgan, the Brooklyn-born entertainer known for his roles in television and film.
A number of critics also took the opportunity to poke fun at controversies from Adams’ time in office, referencing past headlines and policy debates during his tenure as mayor.
Life After City Hall
Adams, who previously served as a New York City police officer before entering politics, appears to be enjoying life after leaving Gracie Mansion, the mayoral residence in New York City.
During the interview, he also commented on national issues, including the administration of Donald Trump and its approach to foreign policy involving Iran.
Criticism of Current NYC Mayor
Adams also weighed in on the leadership of his successor, Zohran Mamdani, suggesting the younger mayor is facing a “reality check” as he adjusts to governing.
According to Adams, some of Mamdani’s earlier policy positions have changed since taking office, particularly regarding mayoral authority and how to address homelessness in the city.
“He’s seeing the reality of governing,” Adams said. “The idealistic approach is not the realistic approach. Governing is real.”
While Adams says a film about his life is far from becoming reality, his comments show he would not mind seeing a Hollywood legend like Washington take on the role should the opportunity ever arise.
