With the theme “Uprising,” Bob Marley’s 80th birthday celebrations began with a live, exclusive sneak peek of the digital tribute performance on Tuff Gong Radio.
Exciting events have been planned for Bob Marley Day, February 6, which will take place at the Bob Marley Museum in Jamaica throughout the day. Fans across the world will be able to watch a live stream on Tuff Gong TV’s YouTube page at 3 p.m. ET.

The Uprising 80 digital event, which features several well-known and up-and-coming Jamaican performers, such as Mortimer, Bugle, Kumar Fyah, Naomi Cowan, Quan Dajai, Kelly Shane, and Alexx A-Game, is the centerpiece of the livestream celebration on the Tuff Gong TV YouTube channel.
A preview of a new Bob Marley music video, a countdown of the greatest performances from previous birthdays, a few new animations about Bob Marley, school choirs from all over the world, and solo performances honoring the reggae icon are some of the other highlights that will be featured throughout the live broadcast.
According to Bob Marley Group of Companies CEO Cedella Marley, “Celebrating Daddy’s 80th birthday under the theme ‘Uprising’ is a special moment for our family and fans worldwide. This album represents so much of his spirit, with powerful songs like Forever Loving Jah, Coming in From the Cold, Could You be Loved, and Redemption Song, which continues to inspire generations.”
Cedella further noted, “Each year, we honor his legacy in a way that unites our extended family, friends, and fans from all corners of the globe. This 80th milestone is a reminder of his timeless call for love, resilience, and freedom.”
On the deck of the brand-new Marley Natural dispensary, Live at Bob’s will feature small-scale acoustic performances on February 6 at noon.
A recently released statement, “Performers will showcase Bob Marley’s grandchildren Yohan Marley and Mystic Marley, and highlight performances from Ras I, Hezron, Christopher Ellis, Janeel Mills, Lymie Murray, Runkus, Amanyea, Hailie Celestial, Black Am I, Shandre Music, Jay Summa, and the Wake up Jamaica choir.”
The opening ceremony will begin at 7 a.m. at the museum with a marching band, Nyabinghi drummers, and the customary blowing of the Abeng. Schools from across the island will conduct tributes during this event. The whole entrance of the museum will be converted into a kid-friendly Kid’s Village, providing young fans with interesting, interactive activities.
Amina Blackwood Meeks will also narrate stories, while Aaron Nigel Smith, who received a Grammy nomination for his most recent children’s record, will be performing at the Rox in Sox Festival.An exhibition called “Bob Marley Experience” showcases the skills of Mr. Brainwash, a globally renowned artist who has organized similar shows in Los Angeles and honor of the late Stan Lee, the legendary figure in Marvel comics. Every Thursday in February, the NAACP Image Award-nominated Bob Marley: One Love will be shown at Movie Nights. Giveaways and products from carefully chosen local partners and craftsmen will be available for purchase during the event at the Bob Marley Museum. Attendance and participation are open to the public.
The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport will conduct a Bob Marley tribute performance in Emancipation Park to round off the day of festivities.
