Wearing all white, Banton enthralled the crowd with his characteristic songs and the enchantment of the evening, which was enhanced by special guests Wayne Wonder, Gramps Morgan, and Ras Shiloh.
While Ras Shiloh and Buju sang Complaint, which was first recorded with the late Garnett Silk, Gramps looked back on his 25-year relationship with Buju and expressed thanks for the chance to perform with him on the tour.
As he walked off stage, Banton stated, “I thank you for loving reggae music.”
The international reggae sensation remarked, “We have shown the world that reggae music is the music of the people and will uplift the people no matter where they are from, as long as we have a chance to come together we will. Until I see you again, I give you my heart and I leave you with my light, LOVE YOU.”
The statement states that the Barclays Center event comes after “a string of successful performances, making it Buju Banton’s third sold-out show in New York within five months and the sixth sold-out show on the Overcomer Tour to date.”
