New York, NY — Following their Off-Broadway debut, OBIE Award-winning Braata Productions celebrates 16 years of THE BRAATA SINGERS with UNPLUGGED – an intimate musical experience honoring Caribbean music, culture, and folklore.
UNPLUGGED invites audiences into a deeper connection with THE BRAATA SINGERS, the premier Caribbean Choral ensemble in the United States, known for their highly theatrical concert presentations and authentic folk performances. In their most personal performance to date, UNPLUGGED offers a raw, heartfelt, and soulful journey through the rhythms and stories of the Caribbean. THE BRAATA SINGERS will revisit fan favorites from their extensive repertoire, alongside a handpicked selection of songs that speak to each performer’s personal story.

Tributes and Special Highlights
THE BRAATA SINGERS: UNPLUGGED also pays tribute to Suriname’s 50th anniversary of independence, recognizing its rich musical traditions and vibrant place in the region. Additionally, UNPLUGGED shines a light on lesser-known Caribbean connections, highlighting the music of places like Belize and other hidden gems of the diaspora.
The program will include:
