Usain Bolt the world’s fastest man alive who holds the 100- and 200-meter world records and has multiple Olympic and world champion wins under his belt claimed that he would have chosen football if given the choice. The Track and Field legend stated in an interview with ITV, “To play a career as long as these guys, most definitely,” within the company of Arsenal Giant Ian Wright, Manchester United Legendry Keene, and former Chelsea, Birmingham City, and Chicago Red Stars midfielder Karen Carney.
Bolt watched Sunday’s FA Cup match between Manchester United and Fulham at the Old Trafford Stadium. Manchester United won 3-1.

After the London World Championships in 2017, Bolt announced his retirement from competitive athletics. He notably tried to transition to a career in professional football but, despite being given the chance to prove himself, he was never quite able to make it.
Bolt shared with ITV, “For me it’s something that I always wanted to try. I watch and love the game so much and I was like why not give it a try. I was very serious, but it didn’t work out as I wanted it to but I really enjoyed the effort and the process.”
In 2018, Bolt underwent a two-day trial with German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund, but the club decided against offering him a professional contract, citing the fact that “at this age, there is not much room for improvement.”
Additionally, the former sprinter spent eight weeks playing for the Central Coast Mariners in the Australian “A” division.
The Mariners had allegedly offered Bolt a one-year agreement for AU$150,000. The retiring sprinter and his team reportedly sought far more than what was offered, thus it was refused.
He remarked during his interview with ITV, “I love football that much and to win the Champions League and score the final goal would be brilliant.”
Khadija “Bunny” Shaw, who has scored 15 goals for Manchester City and is the all-time highest scorer for the Reggae Girlz, was also praised for her influence.
Bolt joked that Shaw is on the incorrect team.
“Sports is very big in Jamaica. We enjoy our sports and we try to support as much as possible. Bunny is here on the wrong team, but I’m trying to go and see her next week and watch a game, I’m excited for her because she’s doing well.”
