The “Pinky Initiative” was started by the King of Dancehall Beenie Man to assist the sister of the nation’s first Dancehall Queen, Carlene Smith, who is reportedly in critical condition owing to cancer.
He started the Beenie Man Foundation, his charitable organization, to help Pinky financially. He does this by requesting donations from his admirers and other well-wishers so that Pinky may pay for the medical care she needs to have a shot at survival.

Beenie Man used his Instagram Story to make a public appeal for support of “Pinky”.
Beenie Man emphasized in the video that his ex-girlfriend (Carlene)’s sister was seriously ill and needed all the support she could get. He also announced that he would be going live on his Instagram page where anyone wishing to donate to the Pinky Initiative can do so by sending money to the account number that will be displayed.
“Pinky is one of di first Dancehall woman…she have cancer…we can save her but we need 50,000 USD. So to all my fans and well-wishers if you have a dollar or a five dollar…just send it,” he said. Then he added, “Tomorrow we a guh Live and mi agguh put up the account number weh unnuh can send the money come.”
The doctor says we can rescue her, he said courteously as he put an end to the film. For that reason, thank you.
Pinky, who was discovered with stage 4 breast cancer in her lymph nodes in 2020 during a routine check-up, is currently fighting the disease. Her recovery-promoting treatments were unsuccessful, and in 2022 cancer expanded to other regions of her body.
However, Carlene has been working hard to fundraise for her sister, and thus far, a little more than USD 1,500 has been collected.
