A National Advisory Council on Citizen Security has been established, according to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley’s announcement. During a news conference held in Ilaro Court this afternoon, the announcement was made.
According to Mottley, this latest event comes after many discussions with the National Security Council, which recently met following her arrival back on the island.

The goal of the Council is to guarantee that as many people as possible take ownership of the measures and decisions required to keep Barbados from encountering the same difficulties that other nations have.
The Barbados PM stated, “We must ensure that Barbadians do not fall down the rabbit hole that other countries have regrettably fallen into as a result of the access, in particular, assault weapons and automatic weapons.”
The government launched this project to strengthen security protocols and respond to the nation’s mounting worries about gun violence and criminal activity.
