A spokesperson from the same Bahamas yoga retreat where Chicago woman, Taylor Casey, vanished last month, confirmed that a decade ago a Texas man went missing. The man, Wesley Bell, was last seen alive while attending a yoga retreat on Paradise Island in Nassau on January 25, 2013.
New interest in Bell’s disappearance comes weeks after Casey disappeared from the retreat. According to a missing persons flyer released by the police at the time. Bell was attending a retreat at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas, according to the retreat’s spokesperson, Jonathan Goldbloom.

Goldbloom said “After an extensive search, the Bahamian police determined that he had drowned.” He referred further inquiries to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
It appears there is no evidence of foul play in Bell’s case, though the police have not provided any official statement on the matter.
Casey’s mother and friends who visited the island early on after her disappearance reported leaving after not feeling welcome or safe and felt the authorities did not ‘care’ enough about their missing relative to intensify the search for her. They have publicly questioned the competence of police and actions of retreat staff during the investigation into Casey’s disappearance.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force has not responded to multiple requests for comment to news media over nearly two weeks. The U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas also did not return a request for comment on Bell’s missing person case.
