Cay Sal, Bahamas – A Dutch man was rescued from an uninhabited island in The Bahamas by the United States Coast Guard aircrew after being stranded for three days.
The Coast Guard said aircrews notified watchstanders in Key West of a disabled sailboat firing flares near Cay Sal.

Crew members dropped food, water and a radio to establish communications with the man – not identified by the agency.
The Coast Guard Cutter Paul Clark rescued the man Friday on Cay Sal, Bahamas, the agency said in a news release.
The 64-year-old man was in good health and said his boat became disabled during his voyage. He transferred to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in good health.
