Dr. George, a renowned Consultant General Surgeon at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, and Chief of Surgery, is a native of Newfield, Antigua (SLBMC). Dr. George has been practicing medicine for more than 19 years, and she adds a wealth of knowledge to her position.
Her two master’s degrees in emergency medicine and healthcare administration demonstrate her intellectual prowess and dedication to quality in the medical field.
Among Dr. George’s many distinguished associations are memberships in prestigious groups including the Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons, the Pan-American Trauma Society, the Antigua and Barbuda Medical Association, and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
In addition, she holds the esteemed position of Chair of the Antigua & Barbuda Medical Council, demonstrating her leadership abilities and impact on the development of medical governance. She holds fellow status in both the American College of Surgeons and the Caribbean College of Surgeons.
Dr. George is the respected national focal person for the WHO Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative in Antigua & Barbuda. He is an enthusiastic supporter of health crises and health sector disaster management.
Her previous role as Chair of the EMT Strategic Advisory Group in The Americas highlights her dedication to promoting emergency medical services internationally.
