According to a government statement, Miss Basset has demonstrated her love for Antigua by traveling there regularly and leveraging the celebrity power she has accrued from appearing in countless films including Marvel’s “Blank Panther” which grossed over 1.3 billion USD at the box office. Miss Lewis, who played a variety of roles in films and comedies like A Different World and Grey’s Anatomy, adores Antigua.
As the administration emphasized, Bassett and Lewis will not get compensation for their work since they have committed a number of public appearances on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda. The appointment is voluntary and does not include any payment.
Both leading ladies are currently in Antigua and Barbuda participating in the annual Sailing Week activities.
