Known as the ‘greatest reggae festival on Earth’, Reggae Sumfest has been held in Montego Bay, St. James, attracting locals and international visitors to the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex since its inaugural staging in 1993 by Summerfest Promotions, following the model of its predecessor, Reggae Sunsplash.
Bogdanovich purchased the festival in 2016, introducing transformative changes like livestreaming for global audiences.
Looking ahead, Bogdanovich is considering more international proposals. He mentioned that Ghana is also on their radar, with many expressing interest in hosting Reggae Sumfest, and they feel ready to make it happen with a strong production team.
Reggae Sumfest continues at its traditional venue with anticipated acts like YG Marley, Babyface, and Beres Hammond.
While Bogdanovich’s legacy in Jamaica includes his work on the festival and with artists on his label, he is also looking to launch other events. His team has experience with various events during the week-long festivities leading up to the main show days. He emphasized their interest in producing diverse shows, focusing on music and keeping politics out, to represent the country with class and create a vibrant atmosphere.
