The altercation occurred between two passengers – a St. Lucian man began threatening and attacking another passenger and his family. He smashed a bottle of wine in the galley and used it as a weapon to stab the victim and a third man who tried to intervene.
A third passenger sustained deep cuts during the scuffle. He received immediate care from a nurse onboard the flight, as he is diabetic.
All three passengers involved in the fight were taken to a local hospital as soon as the plane landed in St. Lucia.
The wine bottle-wielding passenger has been taken into police custody.
