A $160 million scam at Facey Commodity Limited has resulted in the arrest of 17 people by the police. Fourteen of the accused have already faced charges. The announcement was revealed during a recent news conference by Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, on May 16, 2022, the management of Facey’s parent company Seprod requested assistance from the police to look into what was allegedly fraudulent activity being conducted by staff members in the firm’s van sales division.

Bailey stated, “Investigations uncovered that two IT employees manipulated the computer system to facilitate 24 other employees including route sale drivers and assistants who participated in the fraud by collecting goods from Seprod warehouses and subsequently sold the goods and kept the proceeds.”
The 17 individuals were apprehended during special operations that CTOC members carried out in Clarendon, St. Catherine, and the Corporate Area on April 12 and April 13, 2023, the speaker continued.
