Representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, The Bahamas, and the Caricom Secretariat will join this expedition, according to a release from Jamaica House on Monday.
Since President Jovenel Mose was assassinated, Haiti has struggled with humanitarian issues due to gangs gaining control of large portions of the nation, building toll booths on major thoroughfares to charge drivers for safe passage, and displacing police personnel from stations that were destroyed.
Other nations have pledged assistance to Haiti as they deal with the current unrest, including Jamaica, which Holness said last month is prepared to send security personnel as part of an international effort to bring order to the violently unstable country.
In addition to Senator Kamina Johnson Smith and Ambassador Rocky Meade, the statement listed additional Jamaicans who are a member of the group as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Horace Chang will be in charge of running the government while Holness is away.
