With over 23 years of distinguished service in Trinidad and Tobago’s Foreign and Public Service, Mary A. Tang Yew currently serves as Acting Consul General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in New York. Throughout her career, she has represented Trinidad and Tobago in diplomacy, international relations, and the law of the sea while fostering strategic partnerships that advance her country’s interests abroad.

In New York, she has championed initiatives that strengthen engagement with the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora through cultural diplomacy, community outreach, and international collaboration. Working alongside key diaspora organizations, she has co-hosted signature events, including Pan in Times Square IV in celebration of World Steel Pan Day and the Taste of Trinidad and Tobago, showcasing Trinidad and Tobago’s rich cultural heritage while celebrating the talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of its people, and promoting tourism, investment, and meaningful people-to-people connections.
