Renowned Hip-hop artist Drake used lyrics from Sizzla Kalonji’s Thank U Mamma to honor his mother on her grand birthday celebration.
The Canadian rapper commemorated his mom’s 75th birthday on Saturday (January 28) by posting multiple images of what seemed to be a formal dinner party.
“75 Years Thank you mama for the 9 months you carried me through…all the pain and suffering. No one knows the pressure you bear just only you… give you all my love,” before ending his message as “Kalonji.”

The 2002 song Thank U Mamma is still unquestionably one of the most acoustically alluring odes to mothers at an international level. Sizzla’s sincere songwriting and passionate, emotional lines, which chronicle the entire remarkable journey from “9 months” to “manhood,” are a must-have on many Mother’s Day playlists. They lavish praise on mothers for their resilience and support.
The Jamaican icon included songs such as Solid As a Rock, Just One Of Those Days (Dry Cry), Woman I Need You, Bless Up, and Why Should I, on his famed Da Real Thing album.
Sizzla commented on the “One Dance” artiste’s love of dancehall and reggae in 2016 and told VIBE that, “if Drake is going to take up any dancehall music and remix it, then that’s something good.”
“It’s a part of the promotion. It’s just that we must just get together to have the understanding to administer the royalties and publishing for the artists so that you don’t have any discrepancies between either artist,” he noted.
Miguel Collins, better known as Sizzla, is getting ready to embark on a 13-show tour of Japan in support of a new album.

On February 18, he is scheduled to play at the Lovers and Friends occasion, called “The Ultimate Valentines Concert,” which will take place in Plantation Cove at Priory in St. Ann.
